Dedicated Compute and Data Resources for The University of Chicago Division of the Social Sciences

About MidwaySSD

MidwaySSD is a high-performance computing cluster devoted to the Division of Social Science at the University of Chicago, with 18 devoted CPU nodes, 1 A100 GPU node, three login nodes, and 400 TB of storage node, the Social Sciences Division. In collaboration with the Research Computing Center (RCC), MidwaySSD has established to offer faculty and select degree programs dedicated support for compute-intensive, cutting-edge research. The cluster offers interactive sessions with a user-friendly graphical interface (GUI: ThinLinc) and the ability to schedule batch jobs with minimal wait times (SLURM). These resources are available to all faculty within the SSD, their approved collaborators, and student research assistants.
